Mao Xin Jue’s Translated Medical File
In the translated medical file it said that she was found abandoned and picked up on October 23, 2007 at the gate of the Social Welfare Institute (SWI) on the South Guandu Road, Maoming City. She was dressed in the white infant cloth and wrapped in an adult's coat. The police tried every means but could not find her biological parents, and she was brought to SWI on October 23, 2007 by the Guandu Police Station. She was in the Dongguan Kansas Children’s Foster Care from January 10, 2008 – June 11, 2008, during which time she had cleft lip repair surgery. She was admitted to the Donghua Hospital of Dongguan On January 30. The admitting diagnosis: congenital left cheiloschisis III degree with dehiscense of alveolar process. Basically she has a cleft palate (palatoschisis) and a cleft lip (cheiloschisis). Degrees are defined as the following: I Degree: clefts of the lip only - II Degree: clefts of palate only - III Degree: clefts of lip, alveolus, and palate - IV Degree: clefts of lip and alveolus - V Degree: miscellaneous. Her surgery was on February 1 and was discharged into foster care on February 8th. After a good recovery and deemed on target with physical and mental development she was returned to SWI on June 11, 2008 to enter the Half the Sky Grandma Program. Everyday she is in a class designed for her interest and development in the forms of different games, to help with her development in cognition, language, emotion and hand use. Xin Jue is an outgoing and active girl who likes to smile and observes her surroundings with her big eyes. She is very cute, not afraid of strangers and is easy going. She began to receive touch training from the second month. She rolled over at 5 months, sat up at 7 months when she also had her first tooth.
